Like the caterpillar that lies “dormant” in the cocoon for a seemingly endless period of time, lie the flower seeds underneath winter’s cold snow
What once was a beautiful flower garden is now a bare piece of land with no apparent good in store
The sun’s rays manage to make their way through the cloud covered skies unto the land whose beauty and vibrancy once was evident to all
Out the window, anxious eyes go in hopes to catch a glimpse albeit but faint of some form of life
On and on the winter months roll and what little was left of the beauty vanishes with each passing day
Could there be any hope for life underneath the cold, snow covered soil?
Are the vibrancy and beauty that once characterized this piece of God’s earth indeed only memories soon to be forgotten?
Could the earth that now lies cold, chilly, frigid and aloof ever regain life enough to catch the attention of one and all?
Then came spring… it’s gentle breeze strong enough to awaken as though from slumber the seed that has laid forlorn
Soon, and much to the amazement of all, the same earth that once lay bare and cold teems with life
For a minute one wonders how such life could successfully be contained by the snow and chills of winter
But was it? …really? The beauty birthed by spring was conceived by fall and nurtured by winter
Nurtured? …really? How so?
Well, because …then came spring!

Regardless of how long the winter months may last, Spring is imminent! But when it comes, only that which is nurtured during the long and cold winter months shall spring to life.
